When I signed up for the recent IFBC 2013 (International Food Bloggers Conference) in Seattle, I had no idea what to expect. Wow, was I ever surprised! Held at The W Hotel in downtown Seattle, which was first class and I would recommend staying in if you ever have an opportunity to visit Seattle, they catered to our every need and made the weekend very fun and pleasurable. On the opening day of the conference we were privileged to hear from Dorie Greenspan! She has authored 10 books, won 6 James Beard awards, and is currently living and working in France. And even though she does not cook gluten-free, she still has numerous recipes that could be classified as gluten-free, just not her fabulous pastries and breads.

Aside from meeting other food bloggers from all over the US and Canada, one of the main highlights of the weekend was a surprise dinner to one of the several restaurants that joined Urbanspoon in creating a gourmet experience, even for those of us with food allergies. A big shout out goes to Urbanspoon Seattle and The Stumbling Goat Bistro for an unforgettable gourmet dinner!
